Hamilton Wins Chinese Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton has won his first Grand Prix of the new season.
Hamilton had made one more pit stop than rival and current leader Vettel, overtaking him with four more laps to go. Hamilton looked to over take Vettel with ease with his fresh tyres.
He commented about his win:
"I think today the strategy we came up with definitely helped.” he added
"My new option tyres seemed to last longer. The pit stops were fantastic.” "The car felt great and I was trying to nurse my tyres while picking up pace. It was one of the best races I've experienced."
Team mate Button finished fourth overall after losing his position to Australian Mark Webber after a brilliant drive from 18th on the grid. Webber battled and fought his way up the grid finishing in 3rd.
Button commented:
"First of all massive congratulations to Lewis. It was a great race to be part of but I wasn't quick enough.” he added
"Fourth place was as good as I could get out of the car. You're a sitting duck when people have got newer tyres.” "It was a tough afternoon for me and for some reason I didn't have the pace."
New comer Scot Di Rester finished in 11th place for the Force India Team.
Currently as it stands:
Vettel is leading the leader board with 68 points.
Hamilton is chasing with 47 points.
Button a close 38
Webber has 37 points
Alonso with 26
It could all change at the next race which is the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park on the 8th May at 1300GMT.
