Vettel Wins Brazilian Grand Prix
This weekend was the Brazilian Grand Prix at the Interlagos circuit where we saw the Red Bull-Renault team win the Constructors Title for 2010 with 469 points.
Sebastian Vettel has a fantastic start and was in the lead by the first corner, team mate Mark Webber also overtakes Hulkenberg on the same lap making a Red Bull one-two. With effortless pit stops by the Red Bull-Renault team and brilliant driving, the Red Bull team came first and second. Judging by the comment after the race by Vettel, we think he was happy:
Christian Horner, Red Bull boss “Great drive Seb” Vettel replying “Yes baby!”
Christian Horner commented about taking the constructors championship:
"It is just an awesome team result and testimony to the team. Today was a great performance controlled by the team. We had a few issues with Mark Webber and his engine which we got through. This is for every one in Milton Keynes and in Red Bull, they have put in so many hours I can't describe. To do this after six seasons is great."
Webber came second overall after no team orders to let Webber through to help him in the championship, there is news that when Webber crossed the finishing line, he did not even look at the team. Currently, Webber is second overall in the world championship, with 238 points, with Alonso in the lead with 246 points, Vettel in third with 231, Hamilton in fourth with 222 points. It will certainly be a interesting final race next week.
Fernando Alonso came third after the race, still leading the world championship, he is happy with the results of Sundays race. He commented after the race:
“I will go to Abu Dhabi to win the race, if we come second we will automatically win the championship”
Lewis Hamilton finished in fourth position, setting the fastest lap of the race. He complained throughout the race of lack of grip, at one point through the race he radios the team asking if his F-duct is working, to which the team replies: “You are the fastest car in the final sector". Hamilton commented after the race:
"If we're not quick enough here, we won't be quick enough in Abu Dhabi,"
Jenson Button finished fifth overall, now out of the championship race unfortunately, but still Button said that the Brazilian Grand Prix was “fun” but overall really happy with his result and how the team was during the race strategy and pit stops.
