Vettel Wins European Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel brought home the trophy for first position after a eventful race at Valencia. Starting in pole position, he fought and kept his position throughout the race. Vettel sounded ecstatic on the radio at the end of the race commenting “this is how we do it!”.

Hamilton started 3rd on grid, he makes a move to take second place and even tries to out-brake Vettel into the 3rd turn to take place where they make contact but backs off to stay in second position. He also served a drive through penalty for overtaking the safety car, race captain told Hamilton to push as hard as he could for 2 laps before serving his penalty, the bonus for this is Hamilton rejoined the race in 2nd position.

Jenson Button putting in the fastest lap time of the day at 1:38.766. Started 7th on the grid, worked his way up to 3rd with a interesting race with Japanese driver Kobayashi.

On Lap 9, Mark Webber ran into the back of Heikki Kovalainen and literally took off as he ran over the rear wing and wheels of the Lotus-Cosworth, causing Webber to flip a number of times in the air and come to rest off a tyre barrier - Webber walked away from this major incident and proves that the safety in F1 cars design have come along way.

Alonso not happy with Hamilton overtaking the safety car commented on how that was disrespectful for Formula One racing. It took the stewards 15 laps to investigate Hamilton overtaking the safety car and this was enough time for the Brit to build up a significant lead to come out still in second position.

Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi drove a staggering race, starting 18th on the grid and driving hard overtaking ex-world champion Michael Schumacher and overtaking two cars on the final laps of the race to come into 7th place.
