Nissan Recall 2.1million Cars
Nissan are set for an international recall that will affect more than 2.1millon cars due an ignition problem.
The recall will include nine cars, including the March, Cube and Tiida. It will include approximately 84,000 Nissan Micra and Infinity models that were built at Nissan’s Sunderland factory between January 2004 and March 2006.
Nissan will be recalling over 350,000 vehicles in Europe, with the most affected cars being in Japan and America, with 834,759 cars in Japan and over 750,000 cars in the US. A further 194,409 cars will be recalled in China
The affected part is the Engine Control Module - this part may develop oxidation on the electrical contacts and cause the engine to stall or stop the engine from starting. Nissan is not aware of any reported accidents due to this issue.
Nissan will be working with VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) to contact owners of the affected cars. The work can then be carried out at your local Nissan garage to be fixed. The repair will take approximately 20 minutes to no cost to the owner.
