Winter Driving Course By Mercedes

Mercedes-Benz have introduced a winter driving course which was launched at their Driving Academy in Weybridge.


‘Winter Driving’ a new course launched by the manufacturers is designed to prepare drivers of the dangers of driving on winter roads. Figures show that road traffic accidents soar in the winter months, with November having the highest number of casualties.


Using the Wet Skid Circle and Straight at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, drivers will drive cars in replicated wintery conditions, which will enable them to experience a real life situation where you would lose control of your car. A fully qualified Mercedes-Benz coach will be on hand to guide and teach what to do if you did lose control of your car in wintery conditions.


Robert East, Driving Academy operations manager, commented:

“Cold conditions have a serious impact on driving conditions and it is absolutely essential that drivers are prepared before the winter weather really sets in. At the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy we simulate real extreme driving conditions. Each winter drivers get caught out when the weather turns cold and it's important both new and experienced drivers know what to do, and if the weather is too bad we really advise to stay at home.”
