Cheaper Lease Cars

Ford and Vauxhall have introduced new models and pricing for fleet purchases so leasing your next could save you money.

Prices have rose by at least 20% in the last 18 months, but now Ford have announced that they will cut prices for fleet purchases, whilst Vauxhall have released two low priced models to their range - the ‘Expression’ and the ‘ES’.

Adrian Rushmore, MD of Glass’s said:

“Manufacturers need to do something now to stimulate sales, because everyone is expecting trading conditions to deteriorate in the second half of the year”

Fleet purchases will see benefits of National Insurance and road tax, whilst users of the cars will benefit paying lower tax for their lease car.

Rushmore added:

“Anything that they do to close the gap between list and transaction price is a positive move,” he said…Low specification variants of fleet cars – especially those in the lower-medium and upper-medium segments – have limited popularity on the new and used market,” he added

“The best strategy, therefore, will be for manufacturers to stress the low cost of ownership, advantageous company car tax position and the ‘green’ credentials of these new models.”

Savings of over £3,000 will be available on the entry level Vauxhalls with new models. The ‘Expression’ will be available on the Corsa, Astra and the Zafira, whilst the ‘ES’ model is available on the Insignia and Astra ranges.
