New Audi A3 To Include Stop Start Technology

If you decide to purchase a new automatic Audi A3, this will now include the new stop start technology previously only limited to new cars with manual gearboxes.


The new Audi A3 1.4TFSI and 1.6TDi is set to lead the way with this technology installed. The technology works by automatically cutting the engine off when the car comes to a standstill such as traffic lights and then automatically firing up the engine again once the brake pedal is depressed.


The benefit of stop start technology is fuel saving and a reduction in C02 emissions, with the 1.4TFSI coming to 53.3mpg instead of its 49.9mpg without the stop start, and emissions reduced to 124g/km from 132g/km from the equivalent.
