New Honda CR-Z
Honda have debuted its new hybrid sports car the Honda CR-Z that we featured back in October in our Tokyo Motor Show article.
The new Honda CR-Z will feature a 1.5 litre petrol engine producing 108bhp, with the hybrid ‘IMA Parallel System’ it boosts the power to 122bhp with 128lb/ft of torque. This is the same amount of torque to the current Honda Civic 1.8, but with less emission at only 117g/km and also returning an average 56.4mpg.

The Honda CR-Z will join the Honda Insight which is also powered by the IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) parallel hybrid system. The CR-Z will come with a 6-speed manual transmission making this new Honda the first 6-speed hybrid car.

Inside the CR-Z it will have 2+2 layout enabling normal everyday use and with three different selectable driving modes the driver will have control of the set-up, either Sport, Econ (economy) and normal. With aluminium and black detailing on the dashboard with blue accent lighting it makes the Honda CR-Z a fun car to own.
The hybrid coupe will go on sale this summer priced around the £18,000 mark, with a Mugen version expected to follow in 2011.
