New Lamborghini LP 570-4 Superleggera
Lamborghini launch their new car the LP 570-4 Superleggera. Officially released at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
The new LP 570-4 Superleggera is the top of the range flagship model for the current Gallardo range. Superleggera means ‘super light’ in Italian - this is highlighted by the fact that the LP 570-4 Superleggera is 70kilograms lighter than a normal Gallardo. Coming in at 1340kg - this is the weight of a new VW Golf GTI.

Carbon Fibre is the main factor of why it is so light, using Carbon Fibre panels on the exterior and on interior parts save weight, increasing the power-to-weight ratio which plays a major factor in most high performance/racing cars. Using lightweight tyres, the Pirelli P Zero Corsa are specially made for the LP 570-4 Superleggera, wrapped around lightweight 19” alloy wheels help this car put its power down and stick to the road.

The new LP 570-4 Superleggera is powered by a 5.2litre V10 engine which produces 562bhp. The ‘570’ in the name comes from a ’CV’ power measurement. With such a powerful engine, it powers the Gallardo to 62mph in 3.4 seconds, 124mph comes in at 10.2 seconds then tops out at an autobahn only 202mph.

On the interior, Carbon Fibre panels around the dashboard, gearbox tunnel and door panels ensure that the car keeps the lightweight theme but also serves as a purpose to the lightweight-ness of the car. Lamborghini using Alcantara instead of Leather as it is lighter.
