New Vauxhall Meriva - First Interior Pictures
Vauxhall have released the first interior pictures of the new Vauxhall Meriva due for sale late this year.
A few weeks ago we had news of the new Vauxhall Meriva, due to be launched officially at the Geneva Motor Show in March. We had news on specification and pictures of the exterior of the car but never the interior. Today Vauxhall have released pictures of the interior and a picture of how wide the ‘FlexDoors’ actually open.
The main picture shows how far and versatile the FlexDoors actually are, once the back door is open, the access to the rear is limitless as you don’t need to squeeze between the door and the rear seats. Open the front door at the same time and you have a ‘personal space’ when you are putting your child into their child seats.
The Interior picture show the long and wide windscreen, with thin A-pillars for that extra viewing capacity, with the optional glass roof, the cabin looks really light. The dashboard itself has influence from the new Astra with the wrap around ‘wing’ design dashboard that starts and finishes from door to door.

Unfortunately there are no pictures of the ‘FlexRail’ system that we mentioned, but in the press release we learnt that there will not be the traditional handbrake handle, but the new Meriva will use a electronic parking brake button just behind the gear knob. Using this technology will aid the ‘FlexRail’ system with its extra stowage compartments in between the seats. The FlexRail system include two cup holders, aux in/USB connections and a 12-volt socket. On higher models such as the ‘SE’ model, a flip-top armrest is available with extra storage inside the armrest with a smaller stowage area and cup holder underneath it.
Using Vauxhall’s trademark Flex Space system, when the rear seats are dropped and the middle row seats are folded up, the new Meriva offers a massive 1500 litres of load carry capability. If you have the seats up you have 400 litres, but using it as an everyday car you get 920 litres of space.
