Peugeot 308 CC - New Model

Peugeot have today released details of their flagship Peugeot 308 CC model, by releasing a new Euro 5 THP petrol engine with a newly designed 6-speed automatic gearbox.


The new model will come with a 1.6 156bhp THP turbocharged engine linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The new gearbox developed by a company called Aisin AW, the gearbox is built to withstand a torque figure of over 220lb/ft of torque. The lightweight gearbox will also has also been designed to reduce the cars overall weight to reduce fuel consumption and most importantly the emissions which is 7% less than the older model.

Two modes on the gearbox are possible, a fully automatic, where there driver simply selects ‘D’ and the other is a sequential selection where the driver manually changes by pulling toward and pushing away. With this technology the new 308 CC THP 156 will get to 62mph in 9.8 seconds, a top speed of 131mph and a combined fuel consumption figure of 36.6mpg.

The new gearbox model will be available with ‘SE’ and ‘GT’ trim levels, with the ‘SE’ costing £23,595 and the ‘GT’ coming in at a reasonable £25,595.
