Skoda’s New Swapping Scheme

Following news from Mazda offering discounts up to £2000. Skoda are also offering a similar discount for new cars called ‘Happy Swapping’.


Skoda are offering drivers of used cars who own a car with a ‘52’ registered car or older for discounts up to £2000 if they swap their used car for a new car. There is no limit to what make or model of the current car the customer is driving.


To qualify for the discount, Skoda are asking for all the cars to have a valid MOT certificate (with a minimum of 3 months left), the owner must have owned the vehicle for at least 3 months and must be taxed, insured and owned by someone resident in the UK.


David Ovenden, Head of Škoda Operations, said:


“The scrappage scheme was an extremely effective initiative, which gave drivers a strong incentive to replace their old and less efficient vehicles for a brand new one. Due to the fuel efficiency and excellent value of our cars, we found many new consumers which haven’t been in the market for a new car for many years, choosing a Škoda. With this in mind, we wanted to launch our own programme which would allow those who narrowly missed out on the scrappage scheme to still benefit. We are confident it will be a real success.”
