Volkswagen Launch Fixed Price Servicing
Volkswagen UK have announced that they will fix service prices for cars aged 3 to 10 years.
The no nonsense fixed price servicing was launched to attract new and used car drivers of Volkswagens to use their local Volkswagen service centre to maintain their car.
The prices are fixed to the engine size up to 2.0 litres, above this will be slightly more (POA). A typical minor service will now cost £119, this includes all VW genuine parts, labour and VAT, a major service will cost £229 again including all parts and labour.
Volkswagen have kept it simple with the service prices, they have spilt it into different options that you can choose along with your service. An example of this is a cam belt change, which is £299, or £399 to include the water pump replacement. Other options are air conditioning service for £75, or a air conditioning refresh for £25 (which is a top up of gas).
A hire car can also be arranged for an extra £12.50 per day if you choose to go on their insurance, or free of charge if the customer arranges insurance, or the other option is ‘Collect and Deliver’ which your local dealership will drive up to 40 minutes each way for £15. The final free of charge option is a ‘courtesy lift’ where the driver will drop you off and pick you up anywhere within 20 minutes of driving.
Volkswagen are also offering ‘Car Care’ where if you book in for a service you get a free wash and vacuum - this is including for any jobs that take longer than a hour. Alloy wheel refurbishment is £60, dent removal £60 and stone chip repair is £60.
Volkswagen have done well to achieve this and Volkswagen’s Head of Customer Services and Aftersales, Stephen Butt, commented about this:
“We’re launching this fixed price servicing programme as an extension of the Service Promise we introduced last year, allowing customers of older Volkswagens to enjoy the same standards of aftersales care as owners of newer cars.” he added
“When we asked customers what they wanted, transparent servicing costs were top of the list. We’re confident that by introducing these and offering service and maintenance by Volkswagen experts with the latest training who have instant access to the right tools and technology, there will be no reason for owners of older vehicles to look outside the network for aftersales care.”
